Cookie Policy

SMCGAMING COOKIE AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES POLICY

S McCabe BIM Solutions Ltd.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

This policy explains cookies and similar storage or access technologies used by S McCabe BIM Solutions Ltd., including its gaming brand SMCGaming. It covers our websites and games that link to this policy, including Space Oddysea. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean S McCabe BIM Solutions Ltd.

Read this alongside our Privacy Policy which explains how we handle personal information, including your rights and how to request deletion.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small files a website stores through your browser. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, tracking pixels, device identifiers and certain software-development-kit storage or access operations. These technologies can remember choices, support a requested service or measure use.

Native games do not necessarily use browser cookies, but storing information on a headset or accessing device identifiers can raise similar privacy considerations. This policy therefore covers relevant website and game technologies rather than only traditional cookies.

3. Why these technologies may be used

Necessary functions can include maintaining a requested session, security, delivering content or remembering a privacy choice. A technology is not treated as necessary simply because it is useful to us.

Preference functions can remember choices such as display options, language or game settings. Analytics and diagnostic functions can help identify use patterns, crashes or performance problems. Advertising functions can measure campaigns or recognise activity across services. Embedded video, social or other third-party content can also introduce storage or access operations.

These are purpose categories, not a statement that every category is currently used. The inventory below must identify the technologies actually deployed by the relevant website or game.

4. Website cookie and storage inventory

[BEFORE PUBLICATION: INSERT THE VERIFIED WEBSITE INVENTORY HERE. For each technology, state its name or identifier, provider and domain, purpose, information stored or accessed, category, lifetime, first-party or third-party status, and whether it relies on consent or a specific legal exception. Include the relevant provider privacy link. If an audit confirms no cookies or similar technologies are used, state that accurately instead.]

We explain the actual storage duration in this inventory. Session storage generally ends with a session, although browser restoration may affect this. Persistent cookies last until expiry or deletion. Browser local storage may remain until removed unless we implement an expiry. The period for retaining information after it reaches a server is addressed separately in the Privacy Policy.

5. Storage in our games

Space Oddysea stores selected audio settings, aim-assistance preferences and completed-wave or wave-selector unlock information on the headset. This supports the game features and choices you use. The current release does not provide an SMCGaming cloud service for saving a run.

These records remain until the app data is removed or reset, subject to device behaviour. Meta or device backup features may separately restore local records according to the relevant platform settings. Removing app data resets the associated preferences and unlock history.

Unity, Meta and any other integrated services may have additional storage or access operations depending on the build and enabled features. They must be assessed and disclosed separately; being built with a game engine does not automatically make every identifier or diagnostic feature necessary.

[BEFORE PUBLICATION: CONFIRM ENABLED SDK FEATURES AND ADD THEIR ACTUAL IDENTIFIERS OR TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTIONS, PROVIDERS, PURPOSES, DURATIONS AND APPLICABLE CHOICE MECHANISMS. Cross-reference the Technical diagnostics section of the game Privacy Policy once finalised.]

6. Consent and your choices

Where consent is required, we ask before optional technologies are placed or accessed. Continuing to browse or play does not, by itself, mean that you consent. Refusing optional technologies should not prevent access to core features that do not depend on them.

Our website choice mechanism should let you accept optional technologies, reject them or choose categories. You can later change or withdraw those choices at [INSERT COOKIE SETTINGS LINK OR PRECISE INSTRUCTIONS]. Withdrawal stops future consent-based use; it does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. Some previously stored records may also need to be deleted through browser or device tools.

Some uses may fall within a specific legal exception to consent requirements. We assess the purpose and configuration of each use, including the conditions and information or objection requirements of any applicable exception. We do not assume that all analytics, preferences or diagnostics qualify. Any required simple, free objection mechanism must be explained alongside the relevant feature and recorded in the inventory.

[BEFORE PUBLICATION: ENSURE THE ACTUAL CONSENT AND OBJECTION CONTROLS MATCH THIS SECTION. Delete or revise references to any controls or features that do not exist.]

7. Browser and device controls

You can use your browser’s controls to inspect, remove or restrict cookies and certain other stored information. Blocking storage needed for a requested feature may affect how it works. Browser cookie controls do not necessarily control pixels, fingerprinting, SDK identifiers or native game storage.

For game settings and progress, use the relevant game or device data-management options. Contact us if you need help removing local game records. Platform backups may require separate management. Device-level controls do not automatically replace an in-service consent or objection mechanism where one is legally required.

8. Third-party content and services

The verified inventory identifies third parties whose technologies are used on our services. Their notices explain their own data processing. Where we introduce third-party content or tools, we remain responsible for providing information and obtaining any consent required for the storage or access we cause.

If you follow a link to Meta’s store or another external website, that service operates under its own cookie and privacy notices. Your choices on our website do not automatically apply on an external website, or vice versa.

9. Updates and contact

We update this policy and the inventory when the technologies, purposes or providers change. Where a new use requires consent, we obtain it before that use starts. The date below identifies the latest revision.

For questions, to raise a privacy concern or to ask about your choices, contact S McCabe BIM Solutions Ltd., operating its gaming brand as SMCGaming, using the details above.
